The love story of a Nigerian man who caught our attention after proposing to his white girlfriend on top of Olumo Rock, Abeokuta, Ogun state is finally out. Everyone was delighted after the incident, but no one knew the true story behind the wonderful act.

The couple. Shila Tietjen and Ola Egunjobi are students of Brigham Young University, Idaho, U.S.A, and in an interview with BYU-Idaho Scroll, have given details of how their relationship blossomed and the challenges they passed through to be where they are today.

When Shila Tietjen decided to visit Nigeria, a proposal was the last thing  she expected.

Shila Tietjen, a sophomore studying Spanish education, said she and her boyfriend, Olu Egunjobi, a sophomore studying accounting, began dating in February after they drove to a party together.

Egunjobi said the way they met was a long story and that it was not planned at all.

After dating for a period of time, Egunjobi said he wanted to take her to his hometown in Nigeria.

While in Nigeria, on Sept. 13, 2016, on Tietjen’s birthday, Egunjobi said he surprised her by asking her on Olumo Rock to marry him after they had toured the Kings Palace and the first church in Nigeria.

“I was totally surprised,” Tietjen said. “I had no idea it would happen that day. Before we left, I thought he would propose to me on my birthday because he likes to do exciting and big things, but then while we were there, I totally forgot. I even forgot it was my birthday when I woke up.”

Tietjen said she was really excited to go to Nigeria to meet his family and that they showed so much love for her.

“They treated me like a princess,” she said.

Tietjen said they did not expect the media attention that they received from the African news and that it caught them both by surprise.

“I bet there was someone there who took pictures of us thinking it was cool and put it out there, and a lot of newspapers and websites took it,” Egunjobi said. “They didn’t even know our names. We weren’t expecting it, I was just there in the living room and I started receiving calls. We went viral in two days.”

Egunjobi said their relationship had not always been easy.

“We both had opposition from family and friends about marrying into a different race and culture,” Tietjen said,“Luckily, though, our immediate families are both really cool with it.”

Egunjobi said his family has not always been members of the Church and he converted when he was 11 years old.

Tietjen said she comes from a long history of members of the Church.

“The gospel is really cool,” Egunjobi said. “Without the gospel, I do not see how this would be happening. I am from a different culture, she is from a different culture, and the gospel is uniting us together.”

Tietjen said she encourages people to be open to different things and to the many different cultures on campus.

“There’s a lot of cultures on campus,” Tietjen said. “We shouldn’t be afraid to experience them we should be willing to open up to them, because when we are not open, that is when we have so many problems in the world.”

The two said they have both received some discouraging remarks from people, but that their love remains strong.

“If the love is there, the color shouldn’t be a barrier,” Egunjobi said. “In the end, we are all human beings.”

Tietjen said they both have grown together through this process, and they look forward to the eternities that are ahead of them.

“After a week of learning new customs, traditions and ways of life, I understood Olu better,” Tietjen said. “I knew for sure that I wanted to be with him forever, no matter what forever would consist of. On the Rock, I had no doubts. I will take my children and grandchildren there to show them how two opposite people with lots of opposition decided to make the climb, face the heights and then stand at the top, strong and firm in their love and dedication.”

A new report about the proper management of one’s pubic hair has emerged and it is now what you may expect.

An Abuja-based medical expert, Dr Arikawe Adeolu, has issued a warning to people who love shaving off their pubic hair.

The man has advised that it is safer to trim the hair rather than shaving it off completely as complete shaving can cause infection.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria, Adeolu revealed on Tuesday that shaving or waxing of the hair around the pubic could cause cracks and expose the skin to bacterial infection.

He added that the pubic hair served a major purpose of providing some level of cushioning for the individual, especially during sexual activity, preventing the skin from rubbing against another and causing abrasion.

He explained that if the skin around the pubic region was completely shaved and the individual’s skin came into contact with another person’s skin, friction would be increased due to the skin to skin contact.

He advised that individuals who were worried about the lack of hygiene due to untended pubic hair should consider trimming rather than complete shaving or waxing of the hair.

“When you completely shave the pubic hair, it re-grows in a slanted fashion with the tip sometimes growing into the pubic skin, which can crack open the skin. 

“It is usually a small crack which cannot be seen with the naked eyes but due to this crack and loss of integrity of the skin at that level, there is increased risk of getting infection. 

“Complete shaving can also cause boil to develop in that region. This is because when you shave, you cause some level of abrasion in the area which opens up the skin.

“These small openings cannot be seen with the eye but they are big enough for the micro organisms to get into the body. 

“Also, because the pubic area is always moist, this serves as breeding ground for organisms like bacteria.”

Adeolu said that trimming the pubic hair would also help to reduce the risk of contacting Sexually Transmitted Infection (STI), which could also be contacted when fluid from an infected partner’s genitalia came into contact with the pubic area.

According to him, if the partner is already infected, the virus in the semen or body fluid can easily penetrate the skin of the other to infect the individual.

He said that this infection was mostly caused by a virus known as ‘Molluscum contagiosum’, adding that there had been significant increase in incidences of such infection in hospitals.

“It is a viral infection that is also categorised as an STI. It affects the skin and does not need treatment; usually after a couple of weeks or months, the symptoms go away by themselves. 

“You also have an increased risk of contacting other STIs such as HIV, Hepatitis, genital warts by complete shaving of the pubic hair,’’ Adeolu said.

Unemployed Man Gets Bre@st Implants Just So He Can Get a Job (Photos)

A Chinese man who had become fed up with job hunting resorted to drastic means to improve his job prospects.

The 30-year-old from Zhuzhou City, in China’s Hunan province, reportedly underwent a breast enlargement procedure costing more than £4,500 (N2million) because he was convinced that there were more career options open to women.

He travelled to Changsha for breast enhancement surgery in August this year.

However, after his family discovered the surgery, he was forced to have the implants removed on
September 26 according to Huanqiu, an affiliate of People’s Daily Online.

At present, the man, surnamed Ho, is still recovering from the surgery to remove the implants.

Ho told a reporter from hunandushi.net, that the incident had caused him a lot of trouble.

The man said he has limited work experience and his job search had not been going well over the years. He decided to change his appearance in the hope of finding a job.

The man’s mother was furious after learning her son had borrowed over 39,000 Yuan (£4,558) for the surgery.

His mother said in the video report:

I was so scared, how can it be like that? How can a man with such big boobs face others?I can’t tell you how many times I have cried in my room.’

She claims that Ho had a condition with his hearing after getting a concussion at the age of three. He reportedly has problems communicating with others.

His mother blamed the hospital for conducting the surgery without keeping the family informed.

Ho did not tell his family about the surgery at Ruilan Medical Cosmetic Hospital and borrowed cash for the procedure according to the report.

He said:

 ‘I did not have enough money for the surgery, so I consulted the hospital.
‘They told me I could pay for the surgery with a loan. They asked me to hand in my mobile phone and ID card.’

Ho claims that he agreed to have the surgery but denied that he had agreed to taking out a loan for the procedure.

He says that he has received calls from the lender every day, which almost led to him having a nervous breakdown.

A spokesperson from the Ruilan Medical Cosmetic Hospital told reporters:

 ‘He is over 18 years old. He has signed the documents. He should be responsible for his actions.’

Li visited the hospital on October 2 for negotiations.

The hospital eventually agreed to waive their fees and offer compensation of 3000 Yuan (£350), reported Hunan Xiaoxiang Herald.

It is not yet to known if they have come to an agreement.
